![]() If I asked if you were pregnant – I’d be going out on a limb wouldn’t I? But before I feel the need to duck, let me explain myself. Because you see, I’m talking about an entirely different kind of pregnancy. In church a few Sunday’s back, we had a visiting pastor from Hermitage, Pa. who had a sermon that pretty much blew me away. You see, he spoke of being impregnated with God-given dreams. He said that God sometimes plants dreams in us that go through different stages and, when the timing is right, they swell within us waiting to be birthed. When the pastor’s sermon was over, I turned to my husband and asked him the same question I’m asking you… “Are you pregnant?” Click here to read more ...

Yes, I have a dream. My dream is for the Church to sing the Psalms. I have set over 30 of them to music and am waiting for a publisher or a way to self-publish. It's encouraging to see that many others, including a whole denomination are also committed to the same dream. It's the Christian Reformed Church who have just published a new psalter - "Psalms for all Seasons" - and one of my settings is included. But I have so many more... 2/4/2012 09:01:36 am
June, what a wonderful dream. I'm sure that King David would love this. I pray that your dream would be fulfilled, and God's word will be magnified in song and celebration through your music! Thanks for reading my blog. If you haven't yet - please fill out the email subscription form (top right on this page) or "like" me on Facebook, so we can stay connected!

Interestingly, I was at a Christian's women's conference a few years back assisting a friend who was presenting. There was a pastor who worked with women who had experienced some trauma at the hands of a man and were still experiencing pain and/or memories. I never thought much about it but afterward I went to speak to him about a painful experience. He told me that God had birthed dreams in me but the painful memories and bitterness was acting like an abortifacient and I was killing my dreams before they came to birth. Well, that really made me think about how bitterness, envy, strife and other thoughts are tools of Satan who only comes to steal, kill and destroy. I know that I dream to create with music. To be sure, nothing of joy can be birthed if you hold on to hurtful pain and bitter memories. I am thankful to Jesus Christ. His Word in Ephesians 1:7 says something we can claim (I have to thank Derrick Prince for these thougths): 2/6/2012 04:21:50 am
Praise God! Never thought of it this way, but yes, it makes perfect sense. Satan can kill dreams by filling us with bitterness, fear and other awful things. Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ who sets us free! It's only been recently that I have been able to live in his freedom and yes, there is so much more room to dream. Thanks so much for the comment.
