A New Heart for Christmas
My friend Mark started feeling poorly around July. Things he normally did became exhausting and physically hard to manage.
He was a strong man, a former Army Ranger, and very involved in the lives of his two teenaged boys.
But a few exploratory tests from various doctors showed Mark and his family that things were not good with his heart.

Who is God? God cares about our physical needs, but I think what He's most concerned with is the state of our heart. Is our heart right with Him? Do we love Him and put Him first in all we do? Do we follow Him with all we are? Asking God for a new "heart" for Christmas may be just what we need this season.
I found the huge wooden star one day while walking through the pastures of a farm where we rented.
It rested against a corrugated steel wall
inside one of the farm’s outbuildings.
What was the star doing out in the middle of a cow pasture? I wondered.
Let’s just say I was intrigued.
What I asked my landlord about the star, his tone turned a bit nostalgic as he said, “Oh, Dad used to string lights on that and put it up on the roof every year.”
See, my landlord had grown up in the house where we were living, and I loved to hear sentimental stories like that one.

_ I came across a cute country sign today that featured Santa in his long red coat holding a small Christmas tree.
Printed across the top was the simple message, “Believe.”
I’ve seen signs like this before and wondered about the message.
You know what I’m talking about – those of you who really know the truth about Santa Claus. Believe in what? A generous man who lived far away, a long time ago and gave kids presents?
